This is a great company to do business with. My purchase arrived quickly and was exactly what I ordered. The Aquabound Flaire is the best value in the marketplace. Happy paddling.

"I contacted Tuckerman Outfitters after receiving a product with a manufacturing defect. The next day (Saturday) I heard from Brian who first made sure I was using the product correctly and then acted on my behalf to secure a replacement from the manufacturer. Brian kept me well informed regarding his progress and made sure that I was satisfied with the result of our interaction. I couldn't be happier."

Matthew in Oregon

[After Tuckerman Outfitters shipped overnight at no extra charge to help out a good customer and fellow outdoorsman] Ten minutes ago, as we were leaving for the lake, the UPS fellow showed up with the Airhead pump. You made my sons' day. Thanks for the x-tra effort.

The Importance of Tools and Knives

The Importance of Tools and Knives

Of all the items you are going to want when participating in outdoor adventures, some that might seem the most inconsequential are actually some of the most important. These include tools and knives.

It can be quite frustrating to arrive at your wilderness campground and realize you have forgotten items like your hatchet for chopping wood or even something as simple as a serrated knife. By making a short list of the knives and camp tools you need, you will be sure to have these items on hand when you need them.

If you are new to outdoor living style adventures, you can research to find what the common tools and knives most people use are, and then determine from those what would be most applicable to your particular outdoor needs. If you are new to this type of experience, you may want to build your tools and knives inventory over a period of time, being sure to start out with the necessities, first.

Ideally, you want both a straight and serrated blade, and buying a combination item would suffice. It is important not to skimp on the quality of your tools and knives, either, as you want them to be long lasting, and you want them to be able to perform the duties they are made for, for a long time. You may want to consider buying as many combination tools as you can, as they are easier to store and transport, and you will have less items to keep up with. There are some great combination tools available on the market that are comprised of blades, various clips, and a variety of different types of pliers and screw drivers.

In addition, there are even larger combos that are known as survival kits. They are excellent for being able to meet almost every need you may run into, even the unexpected on an outdoor adventure. Again, by making a list, you can be assured you are not going to forget something that may be important.

As mentioned, quality is important. You want your tools and knives to be long lasting. Being able to store them properly is also a necessity. The great part about tools and knives for outdoor experiences is that there is a price range that can fit anybody’s budget.

You should always start with the necessities, and then over a period of time add to these to ensure that you get a full collection of the tools and knives that are needed for outdoor adventures. As you outdoor experiences grow, so will your need for a variation of tools and knives.
