"I contacted Tuckerman Outfitters after receiving a product with a manufacturing defect. The next day (Saturday) I heard from Brian who first made sure I was using the product correctly and then acted on my behalf to secure a replacement from the manufacturer. Brian kept me well informed regarding his progress and made sure that I was satisfied with the result of our interaction. I couldn't be happier."

Matthew in Oregon

[After Tuckerman Outfitters shipped overnight at no extra charge to help out a good customer and fellow outdoorsman] Ten minutes ago, as we were leaving for the lake, the UPS fellow showed up with the Airhead pump. You made my sons' day. Thanks for the x-tra effort.

Making the Right Camp Cooking Choices

If you are just beginning to purchase equipment for the great outdoors, then no doubt, camp cooking items will be on your list.

Camp cooking is made easy with the right outdoor stove...You want to start off making sure that you have a good stove that is made by a trusted brand. A stove is not something that you want to fail you when you are out in the bush or the wilderness, and you are growing hungry.

There are many camp cooking stoves to choose from, and they are offered at a variety of different prices. When you learn just how much they will benefit you during your outdoor adventures, you will find they are worth every penny. Just make sure you choose one that is easy to carry and easy to find fuel for.

Choosing the right pots and pans...The next thing on your camp cooking list is going to be your pots and pans, and here, you want something that is going to be compact, lightweight, and easy to carry around. This is going to be particularly important if you will be doing a lot of backpacking and hiking.

You can often get complete sets that will contain all of the pots and pans you will need for your outdoor adventures. You want them to be of good quality as you don’t want to have to replace them every time you go camping. By starting off with a compact set of camp cooking pots and pans, you can always add different pieces to it if needed. One of the things you want to be sure of is that they are crush proof, as you are going to be doing a lot of compact packing.

When choosing your pots and pans set, you may want to be sure there are the camp cooking accessories that go with it as well.

Camp cooking demands good coffee...No outdoorsman wants to be without a good cup of coffee when he or she is enjoying the great outdoors. This means you need to shop for a good coffee maker. Again, it needs to be light weight and easy to use. There is a good variety of excellent brand name camp cooking coffee makers available, and it's just a matter of choosing the one that is most convenient and most appealing to you. Or simply bring Starbucks Via instant, a good alternative! Just add hot water.

Choosing the right camp cooking utensils...Aside from your pots and pans and coffee maker, you are going to need some sort of camp cooking utensils and dishes. Again, you can buy some really convenient packs of these that are going to be ultra light. They are usually made from plastic and the amount of these items that you will need is going to be determined from the size of your camping party. You can either buy a one person set, or more if there are more people in your packing and hiking party.

Don't forget the proper choice of foods...Of course, having all of the equipment to do your cooking isn’t going to be of much use without the food to go with it. Ideally, you want to purchase quality foods that is easy to cook outdoors and easy to carry. Mountainhouse has a huge line of packable foods, but you will be able to brings you favorites along easily enough.

Don't forget the camp cooking odds and ends...Keep in mind, there are going to be some accessories you are going to want, as well. These may be items such as storage containers and a can opener. Ideally, what you want to do is make a full list of the items that you feel you are going to need for your outdoor camp cooking.
